If you come looking for the stereotypical therapist acting, I shall be a disappointment. I am warm, compassionate and easy to talk to about anything. I mean, anything—thoughts, feelings, fears, hopes, expectations, anger, grief . . .
I am a patient listener, and I do not judge. You can tell me your darkest secrets or your worst fears – I am not one to feel shocked or intimidated. Together, we hold space for all of it.
I acknowledge that one size does not fit all and it’s important to make room for an eclectic approach in practice. Which means to blend elements from different approaches and tailor them to suit your needs. As a practitioner of holistic well-being, I emphasize on incorporating lifestyle changes to enhance the benefits of therapy and the overall quality of life. My ‘integrated wellbeing approach’ includes holistic nutrition, i.e., nourishment at the body-soul-spirit levels.
You may find me asking about how you breathe, sleep, eat, talk, move! Because it is important to prioritize finding the self-care method that works best for you. I encourage collaboration between me, your doctor, your dietician, and other carers to ensure that your healthcare team is working together when necessary.
I am deeply rooted in the Indian cultural ethos and often draw from Indian philosophies to build the context of life and living, In therapy. I advocate psycho-spiritual awareness as an essential tool for well-being. This awareness is independent and neutral of religious leanings, as they differ from person to person.
